Peacemakers’ Cultural Celebration

Peacemaker’s Cultural Celebration is a platform for community-based activities to encourage intercultural dialogues.

  • Participants to become proactive and visionary contributors to a more just, peaceful, tolerant and sustainable world;
  • Encourage youth to reflect how peace contributes to peace and world sustainability;
  • Bring the community together to work for peace.

The theme is Peace and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to promote peace and the 17 Sustainable Development Global Goals to the public. Through a series of Peace and cultural workshops and activities etc, the Celebration shows the cultural diversity of Hong Kong and convey the message of the importance role of the 17 SDGs to Peace and Sustainable

2020 was a challenging year, with the COVID-19 pandemic disrupting all aspects of our lives. It is all the more important to reunite peacemakers in renewed efforts to build peace and harmony in society, guided by the 17 SDGs. The 8th Peacemakers’ Cultural Celebration – 2021 has been completely virtualised, bringing peacemakers across geographical boundaries together, featuring nine actions for peace programmes of cultural, educational, interactive, creative and competition activities, all conducted virtually.

A two-hour celebration event will be held on May 8, showcasing the accomplishments of the nine actions for peace programmes will be held as a hybrid event on site with virtual participants.

The virtual Actions for Peace Programme include but not limited to Calligraphy for Peace, Dance for Peace, Moments of Peace, Draw for Peace, Wellness for Peace, Cantopop for Peace, Volunteer for Peace, and Cross-Culture Exhibition. All activities will be held via virtual platform.

The Peacemakers’ Cultural Celebration will be held on May 8, 2021 to celebrate the achievements of the Actions for Peace Programmes.
