Harmony and Peace Charity Gala

United Nations 80th × Glocal Peace Centre 8th Charity Gala

This distinguished evening commemorates the United Nations’ 80th anniversary milestone, honouring its enduring global commitment to fostering peace. It also marks the 8th anniversary of the Glocal Peace Centre and dedicated to “building peace in the minds of men and women”. Over the past eight years, the Centre has reached out to over 200,000 local and international participants engaged in peace efforts through dialogues, cultural exchanges, and community projects.

The Harmony and Peace Charity Gala showed how arts and education can deliver practical peacebuilding in Hong Kong. Hosted by the UNESCO Hong Kong Association Glocal Peace Centre, it gathered over 140 leaders from education, culture, business, and philanthropy to mark the UN’s 80th anniversary and the Centre’s 8th anniversary. Music anchored the evening, curated around UNESCO’s pillars of Education, Science, and Culture, illustrating how creativity fosters dialogue and collaboration.

All donations raised go directly to the Centre’s programmes, active since 2018. These include Peace Education, Intangible Cultural Heritage workshops, Positive Peace training, and Youth Leadership development. Together, they deliver measurable outcomes across five dimensions of peace—individual, cultural, social, environmental, and governance—impacting schools, universities, and communities.

The gala also honoured partners and appointed new Peace Ambassadors, reinforcing the importance of inclusive, cross-sector collaboration.

This was more than a celebration—it was a commitment to scale proven initiatives and extend access to underserved communities. By partnering or sponsoring, you ensure every dollar fuels education, cultural literacy, and youth leadership. Join the mission today to make peace tangible for future generations.
